Take it from the expert- Sonam Lakhani (@myhautelife)- who has created some beautiful niche travel content, and she has great advice for upcoming content creators and what can be done to put quality and honest content out there.
These are her excerpts from the GramTalk we did with her. You can watch it here. So as she talks, these are her top advices to young creators.
Find your reason
“First thing is that you really need to find a reason. Why are you doing this? You need to know don’t do it for the free stuff don’t because that is not going to last too long first. So ask yourself. Why am I doing this? And why do I is there something that I want to share? Is there something about to teach? do I want to entertain do I want to inspire? you to ask yourself a couple of questions?”
Just start it
“Its okay to not have a goal from the start. I had something in my mind I wanted to inspire people. So if you know if you have a vague idea about what exactly do you want to take you will carve your way out there and when you do.”
“Just be yourself it is so easy to get carried away in this world. And so it is extremely easy to just copy anybody or do something that comes to it, but just be you and express what you want to and how you look and perceive things. You need to be yourself. You need to be authentic need to be real.”
Create content for people, not bots
“You need to understand that the people who are connecting with your followers are not machines. They are humans. So you need to connect with them connect with happen all only if you are] true to who you are. If you’re not going to be real, if you’re going to fake it they know it, you know followers are very very smart. They are people they know every single thing. And you have to treat them with that respect and that love.”
“Have an intention, be true to yourself and have that passion. If you’re not passionate about the thing that you really want to do, then it’s not going to take you anywhere. Anything that is not backed by passion will actually it’s not a long-term thing, you know, it is going to die down somewhere.”
“In whatever you do, however you want to mould it, you need consistency in your work. Consistency is ideation, creation and publishing. Everything goes hand in had, and when you are not consistent enough you will not be able to create the impact that you might want to. “
